Fine artist, Maria Rizzo, will exhibit acrylic paintings in a one-person show from January 3 to January 26, 2018, at Half Moon Bakery and Bistro, 6500 E Seneca Turnpike, Jamesville, NY, (315-492-0110). A reception will be held Saturday, January 20, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., and is free and open to the public. Rizzo will have prints for sale with a 10% discount during this event.

These paintings show local trees created thanks to the community involved and the 2014 Individual Artist Commission Grant from CNY Arts Decentralization Program. Rizzo truly enjoys creating paintings that reflect her admiration for nature's creative force. With each brushstroke, Rizzo feels a connection with its whimsical energy.

Maria Rizzo’s paintings have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums throughout the northeast of the United States and abroad. Rizzo is also the recipient of several awards and honors, in addition to the 2016 first Award in the SUNY Empire State College 8th Annual Student Art Competition, she is the recipient of the 2014 Individual Artist Commission Grant from CNY Arts Decentralization Program, and the 2013 Curator-in-Residence at The Tech Garden in Syracuse, NY. Maria Rizzo was born in Bologna, Italy in 1987.
